BuildX'26 Code of Conduct

BuildX'26 is grounded in respect, professionalism, and inclusion. This code sets the expectations for every builder, mentor, judge, sponsor, and guest.

Introduction

BuildX'26 is committed to providing a welcoming, professional, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for everyone involved in the program.

This Code of Conduct outlines the standards expected from all participants, mentors, judges, investors, sponsors, community partners, volunteers, organizers, and attendees throughout the duration of BuildX'26 and its associated activities.

Participation in BuildX'26 constitutes acceptance of this Code of Conduct.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all BuildX-related spaces, including but not limited to:

  • Online community platforms
  • Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, and social channels
  • Virtual sessions and workshops
  • Mentor and investor interactions
  • Submission reviews and judging activities
  • BuildX'26 Finale activities
  • Offline Finale and networking events
  • Social media interactions related to BuildX

Professional Conduct

All members of the BuildX ecosystem are expected to:

  • Act professionally and respectfully
  • Treat others with courtesy and dignity
  • Encourage collaboration and constructive feedback
  • Foster a welcoming environment for builders of all backgrounds
  • Respect differing viewpoints and experiences

Inclusion & Non-Discrimination

BuildX is dedicated to creating an environment where everyone feels safe and respected.

Discrimination or exclusion based on any of the following will not be tolerated:

  • Gender
  • Gender identity or expression
  • Sexual orientation
  • Age
  • Disability
  • Physical appearance
  • Body size
  • Race
  • Ethnicity
  • Nationality
  • Religion
  • Political beliefs
  • Educational background
  • Technical expertise
  • Professional experience
  • Choice of technology, tools, or business model

Anti-Harassment Policy

Harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited.

Examples include:

  • Offensive comments
  • Personal attacks
  • Threats or intimidation
  • Stalking
  • Unwanted contact
  • Discriminatory language
  • Sexual harassment
  • Deliberate disruption of sessions or events
  • Sharing private information without consent

Project Integrity & Originality

BuildX encourages innovation and honest execution.

Participants may build upon existing ideas, prior research, open-source projects, or previous work provided that:

  • Significant development or progress occurs during the BuildX timeline
  • Prior work is disclosed where relevant
  • Appropriate attribution is provided
  • Plagiarism
  • Misrepresentation of work
  • Submitting another person's project as your own
  • Fabricating user metrics, validation data, or achievements

AI Usage Policy

Use of AI tools, AI-assisted development platforms, no-code tools, and automation tools is permitted.

Participants remain responsible for:

  • Accuracy of submitted work
  • Compliance with licensing requirements
  • Ethical use of AI-generated content
  • Respecting intellectual property rights

Intellectual Property

Participants retain ownership of their projects, startups, ideas, code, designs, business models, and intellectual property.

By participating in BuildX, participants grant Resourcio and BuildX permission to:

  • Showcase project information
  • Feature submissions on websites and social channels
  • Use screenshots, demos, and project descriptions for promotional purposes

Photography, Recording & Media

Photography and videography may occur during BuildX events, sessions, and BuildX'26 Finale activities.

Participants who do not wish to appear in media coverage may notify the organizing team.

Attendees should not record private conversations, mentorship discussions, or meetings without consent from all involved parties.

Sponsor, Investor & Mentor Conduct

Sponsors, investors, mentors, judges, and ecosystem partners are expected to:

  • Interact professionally with participants
  • Avoid conflicts of interest where possible
  • Respect confidentiality when applicable
  • Provide constructive and unbiased feedback
  • Avoid coercive or inappropriate behavior

Offline Event Conduct

For participants attending the Offline Finale and BuildX'26 Finale:

  • Follow venue policies and instructions
  • Respect campus facilities and property
  • Follow safety guidelines issued by organizers
  • Behave professionally during presentations and networking activities

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please contact the BuildX organizing team immediately.

Reports will be treated seriously and reviewed confidentially wherever possible.

The organizing team reserves the right to investigate incidents and take appropriate action.

Consequences of Violations

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Verbal or written warning
  • Removal from sessions or community spaces
  • Disqualification from BuildX
  • Revocation of awards or recognition
  • Restriction from future Resourcio programs
  • Removal from the Offline Finale or BuildX'26 Finale

Final Authority

The BuildX organizing team reserves the right to interpret, enforce, and update this Code of Conduct as necessary to ensure a safe, professional, and inclusive environment for all participants.

All decisions made by the organizers regarding Code of Conduct violations are final.
